Islamabad (Sapeher Times) 88 accused from 19 gangs arrested; stolen property worth over Rs 16 crore recovered, along with 56 cars and motorcycles.,88 accused involved in serious crimes and vehicle/motorcycle theft have been arrested. RDU police teams recovered stolen goods worth more than Rs 7.29 crore, while the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Unit recovered 56 cars and motorcycles worth over Rs 8.82 crore, solving 56 cases.SSP Investigations Salman Zafar stated that the Robbery and Dacoity Unit (RDU) arrested 61 accused, including 30 members of eight gangs involved in dacoity, kidnapping for ransom, robbery, burglary, and theft. Stolen items worth Rs 7 crore 29 lakh 15 thousand — including mobile phones, laptops, vehicles, motorcycles, gold, cash, and other property — were recovered from the accused in 28 cases.In kidnapping-for-ransom cases, nine members of two gangs were arrested and the abductees were recovered. Items worth Rs 1 crore 5 lakh, including a Honda Civic car, 18 mobile phones, 7 laptops, iPads, and passports, were recovered from the accused.In dacoity and robbery cases, 16 members of four gangs were arrested. From them, 23 mobile phones, five motorcycles, 20 vehicles, cash, watches, and other stolen property worth Rs 1 crore 60 lakh 65 thousand were recovered.In eight cases of ordinary theft and burglary, 14 accused were arrested. From them, 20 tolas of gold, cash, watches, laptops, and other items worth Rs 4 crore 62 lakh 40 thousand were recovered.SSP Investigations further stated that the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Unit (AVLU) arrested 27 accused belonging to 11 gangs involved in vehicle and motorcycle theft this year. They recovered 35 cars and 21 motorcycles with a total value of Rs 8 crore 82 lakh 45 thousand. In this way, 56 cases of vehicle and motorcycle theft were solved. The arrested groups used master keys and other methods to steal vehicles and transport them to various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Safe City cameras and modern scientific and technical resources, along with informants, were used for the arrests.SSP Investigations Salman Zafar, accompanied by the DSP CCIA and the In-Charge of AVLU, handed over the keys of the stolen cars and motorcycles as well as the recovered stolen property to the citizens. On the occasion, he said that Islamabad Police is determined to protect the lives and property of citizens and to take effective action against criminals. Recovery of stolen vehicles and motorcycles and returning them to their original owners is among our top priorities. All available resources are being utilized to provide relief to the citizens.
