Karachi (Sapeher Times) YDA Sindh Supports PMA, Rejects Current POS Enforcement Measures

Karachi (Sapeher Times) Karachi The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Sindh has expressed full support for the position of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), stating that YDA Sindh stands shoulder to shoulder with PMA in support of the legitimate concerns of the medical community.

A press conference was held today at PMA House, Saddar, Karachi, which was attended by representatives of the Pakistan Medical Association and Young Doctors Association Sindh, along with other doctors.

Those who attended included Dr. Tipu Sultan, Dr. Ghafoor Shoro, Dr. Ismail Memon, Dr. Mehboob Noonari, Dr. Mehran Khan Shar and other doctors.

YDA Sindh congratulated the medical community on what it described as the successful response to the PMA Centre’s call for the closure of private clinics and a strike, and said that the association would continue to stand alongside PMA in the ongoing struggle.

According to YDA Sindh, the medical community has serious concerns that senior doctors and professionals associated with the healthcare sector are being subjected to undue pressure and harassment in the name of the Point of Sale (POS) system by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

YDA Sindh rejected the current approach to the implementation of the POS system and called for an end to what it described as unnecessary pressure and harassment of doctors and healthcare professionals.

The speakers said that doctors and the healthcare sector are an important asset of the country and play a vital role in providing healthcare services to the public. They expressed concern that such measures could create anxiety and dissatisfaction among the medical community.

YDA Sindh demanded that coercive measures against doctors be withdrawn and that the alleged harassment of members of the medical community be stopped immediately.

The association stated that if the issue is not resolved, YDA Sindh, in coordination with PMA, reserves the right to expand the scope of its protest and announce further action.
