Islamabad (Sapeher Times) IGP Islamabad chairs crime review meeting, orders crackdown on criminal elementsInspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, held a crime meeting at the Central Police Office. The meeting was attended by DIG Islamabad, SHOs from various police stations, and investigation officers.During the meeting, the IGP Islamabad reviewed the overall crime situation in the federal capital, measures taken to maintain law and order, and the performance of police officers. On this occasion, he instructed all officers to carry out indiscriminate and effective operations against proclaimed offenders involved in serious crimes, individuals possessing illegal weapons, drug traffickers, and organized criminal gangs.He emphasized that merit, transparency, and professional standards must be upheld in the investigation process to ensure that citizens receive timely and fair justice.The IGP Islamabad further directed that if any criminal incident occurs within the jurisdiction of a police station, the concerned SHO will be held accountable. He also instructed all officers to hold daily open courts in their offices to address citizens concerns promptly and effectively.He stated that Islamabad Police will utilize all available resources to protect the lives and property of citizens, prevent crime, and maintain sustainable peace and order.Later, IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi held a meeting with DIG Islamabad, during which they reviewed security matters, professional training of police officers, capacity-building initiatives, and the overall policing system.He directed the DIG Islamabad to further strengthen and coordinate security arrangements during Muharram-ul-Haram, ensure strict monitoring of sensitive locations, remain alert in the field at all times, and take all necessary measures to safeguard citizens lives and property.He made it clear that the protection of citizens lives and property is the Islamabad Police top priority and that any negligence or dereliction of duty in this regard will not be tolerated.Furthermore, under the “Open Door Policy,” IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi conducted an open court session. During the session, he listened to the concerns of citizens and police officers and issued immediate instructions to the relevant officials for resolving their issues.He also directed officers that the prompt resolution of citizens problems in accordance with merit and the law is their foremost priority. He stated that if any citizen faces an issue related to the police, they should feel free to attend the open court, as his doors are always open to the public.Acting on citizens complaints, he instructed the concerned officers to resolve applications on merit within the prescribed time frame and submit reports to the Central Police Office.The IGP Islamabad further stated that Islamabad Police is continuously taking measures to provide better services to citizens and that the daily holding of open courts has significantly contributed to the prompt and priority-based resolution of public issues.
