Islamabad (Sapeher Times) Police advances green policing and technology-driven reforms, says IGP Following the vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Islamabad Police is taking practical steps to promote efficient energy use, environmental protection, and eco-friendly initiatives. In this regard, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, along with DG Safe City/ DIG Traffic, Muhammad Haroon Joya, met with the representatives of BYD Electric Vehicles in Pakistan.During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on the use of electric vehicles in various departments of Islamabad Police, energy-saving projects, modern and eco-friendly transport solutions, reducing carbon emissions, and gradually transitioning the department towards a green policing model.On this occasion, the usefulness of electric vehicles, operational efficiency, lower operating costs, and proposals for their phased integration into the police force were also reviewed. IGP Islamabad expressed the commitment to make the policing system more efficient, modern, and environmentally friendly by leveraging modern technology and sustainable energy sources.Subsequently, IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired an important meeting with SSP Investigation Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt, Director FM, and Director Legal. The meeting included a detailed review of the effective use of modern technology in investigative matters, legal issues, case management systems, and ongoing reforms in various policing departments.During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on providing timely and quality justice to citizens, improving investigative standards, promoting evidence-based investigations, expanding digitization processes, and enhancing institutional capacity. IGP Islamabad instructed the relevant officers to strengthen the investigative system in alignment with modern technology and legal requirements to ensure transparent, efficient, and timely justice for citizens.Later, under the “Open Door Policy,” IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi held an open court. On this occasion, he listened to the issues of citizens and police officers and issued on the spot instructions to the relevant officers for their resolution.IGP Islamabad directed officers that resolving citizens issues promptly and according to the law is our top priority. He stated that any citizen facing a problem related to the police could freely approach the open court, as his doors are always open to the public.Based on citizens complaints, IGP Islamabad instructed the relevant officers to address requests on merit within the prescribed timeframe and submit the reports to the Central Police Office. He further stated that Islamabad Police is continuously taking measures to provide better facilities to citizens, and holding daily open courts significantly helps in promptly resolving public issues on a priority basis.
