Karachi (Sapeher Times) Young Doctors Association Sindh Hosts Prestigious Iftar Dinner at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre; Inaugurates Patient Aid Welfare Initiative

Karachi (Sapeher Times) According to details, the Young Doctors Association (YDA) Sindh organized a prestigious Iftar dinner at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), during which the Patient Aid Welfare initiative was formally inaugurated. The ceremony was held at the Najmuddin Auditorium parking area and was attended in large numbers by doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, social and political personalities, members of the legal fraternity, and media representatives.
The chief guests of the event were Executive Director of Jinnah Hospital, Professor Dr. Khalid Sher, and Joint Executive Director Dr. Muhammad Salman. Dr. Muhammad Salman formally inaugurated the Patient Aid Welfare project by cutting the ribbon. The initiative was warmly welcomed by the participants with applause.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Muhammad Salman congratulated the leadership of YDA Sindh for organizing a successful and well-coordinated program. He stated that such initiatives not only promote harmony within the medical community but also send a positive message regarding patient welfare and public service.
Chairman of YDA Sindh, Dr. Mehboob Noonari, expressed gratitude to all distinguished guests and participants. He stated that the organization aims not only to address the issues faced by young doctors but also to play a proactive role in providing improved healthcare services to the public. He further informed that under the Patient Aid Welfare initiative, assistance for deserving patients would be made more effective and organized.
The event was attended by Professor Dr. Khalid Sher, Professor Dr. Nighat Shah, Assistant Director Dr. Saddam Saleh, Assistant Director Farooq Ahmed, Head of Department Abdul Razzaq Dogar, along with professors and doctors from various departments. PhD holder clerk Muhammad Usman Gujar also attended the ceremony. Senior officials from the Sindh Secretariat and Health Department were present as well.
Among other participants were nurses’ leaders Ijaz Ali Kaleri and Muhammad Ashiq Chauhan, paramedical leaders Hassan Pathan, Salman Memon, Asadullah Sameto, and office bearers of other organizations.
Dr. Muhammad Naeem Qaimkhani, Coordinator to the Federal Minister of Health and senior leader of MQM Pakistan, also attended the event as a special guest. On this occasion, he was presented with a traditional Ajrak and a commemorative shield.
In-charge of the Medical Aid Committee at Jinnah Hospital, Adnan Khan, along with his team, participated actively, while representatives including Shakir Bhai from Civil Hospital Karachi were also present.
Participation of Cricket Teams
Cricket teams from various public sector hospitals also participated in the Iftar dinner, adding enthusiasm and camaraderie to the event. These included representative teams from National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), National Institute of Child Health (NICH), Civil Hospital Karachi, and other institutions. The participation of players and team officials brought added spirit and unity to the gathering. Participants emphasized the importance of promoting sports activities among medical institutions to encourage healthy competition and strengthen solidarity among doctors and healthcare workers.
The media team also attended in full strength under the leadership of senior journalist Akhtar Shaheen Rind. Senior journalist Raja Irshad Ali Asadi and Akhtar Shaheen Rind were presented shields in recognition of their outstanding performance. The shields were awarded by Dr. Muhammad Salman and Dr. Mehboob Noonari
