Islamabad (Sapeher Times) Police Steps Up Public Service, Crime Prevention and Field Policing,In accordance with the special directions of Federal Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry, Islamabad Police continues to take practical measures for the prompt resolution of citizens’ issues, prevention of crime, and strengthening of effective policing.In this regard, DIG Islamabad Ali Wasim held an open court at his office, where he listened to the issues and complaints of citizens and directed the concerned officers to take legal action on the applications strictly on merit within the stipulated time and submit reports accordingly. DIG Islamabad stated that the prompt and merit-based resolution of citizens’ issues is a top priority of Islamabad Police. Citizens can raise their concerns directly with police officers during open courts without any recommendation, while complaints can also be registered through the IGP Complaint Cell at 1715.He further stated that, in accordance with the directions of the IGP Islamabad, open courts are being held across the district, while all zonal SPs are also conducting open courts in their respective zones to listen to citizens’ concerns and take necessary measures for their resolution. Islamabad Police is following a zero-tolerance policy against violence against women and children, while ensuring the rule of law and protection of the life, property and dignity of citizens.Meanwhile, an important meeting was chaired by SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza, which was attended by SSP Security & Administration, Circle SDPOs and concerned SHOs. The meeting reviewed the overall law and order situation in the city, ongoing crackdown against drug dealers, inspection of police stations, SIPS protocol, effective checking at pickets, patrolling arrangements, under-construction police stations and other important matters.The SSP Operations Islamabad directed officers to further intensify and improve action against drug dealers and other criminal elements, strengthen field policing and continue indiscriminate action against those involved in criminal activities. He also directed effective checking of suspicious persons, vehicles and motorcycles at pickets, enhanced patrolling and effective security and surveillance arrangements at sensitive locations.Qazi Ali Raza directed that work on under-construction police stations under the SIPS protocol be completed at the earliest in accordance with the prescribed standards, while ensuring better facilities for citizens, police officers and personnel at police stations. He stated that the timely redressal of citizens’ complaints, provision of better police services, protection of citizens’ lives and property, and maintenance of law and order remain the top priorities of Islamabad Police.
