The All Pakistan Vaping Association is organizing a peaceful protest on Friday, 20th
\nJune 2025, in front of the Punjab Assembly, Lahore,
\nfrom 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, in
\nresponse to the recent vape ban in Punjab.<\/p>\n
This protest is being held to raise serious concerns regarding the following:<\/p>\n
\u25cf The government has imposed a sudden ban on vaping \u2014 a product widely
\nconsidered less harmful than cigarettes \u2014 while cigarettes
\nremain legal. If public
\nhealth is the goal, the selective ban raises major questions.<\/p>\n
\u25cf This move seems aimed at protecting cigarette sales, potentially influenced by
\npolitical or commercial links with large tobacco companies.<\/p>\n
\u25cf With this ban, approximately 3,000 businesses and 20,000 jobs are directly<\/p>\n
impacted, while nearly two million vape users are at risk of reverting to cigarette
\nsmoking to meet their nicotine needs \u2014 ultimately reversing years of<\/p>\n
harm-reduction progress.<\/p>\n
Adding to the concern, no official notification regarding the ban has been issued.<\/p>\n
However, law enforcement and other authorities have reportedly been pressuring local
\nretailers to shut down vape shops. In many cases, individuals are being harassed or
\nmade to pay unofficial fines before being allowed to leave \u2014 creating widespread
\nconfusion and disruption in the market<\/p>\n
